Barrel Stove Combo is a jazz combo based in northwest Montana. The eponymous barrel stove warmed the garage where they found their sound. Eric Gates plays the eight-string guitar, covering both bass lines and harmonies, while Vincent Rannazzisi plays drums, and Rebecca Nelson plays tenor saxophone and flute. Eric writes most of the group's original pieces, which often feature angular melodies and surprising harmonies against a grooving rhythm.
